The Potosi Brewery began as a small brewery in 1852, and by 1906, the Potosi Brewing Company was founded. At its peak, the Potosi Brewery had grown to be the fifth largest in Wisconsin, shipping a variety of labels to destinations throughout the United States. However, in 1972 the brewery ceased operations. Beginning in 1995, restoration efforts spanned more than a decade to prepare for the grand re-opening of the brewery in 2008. Facilities include a national brewery museum, transportation museum, gift shop, interpretive center and restaurant.

Challenge:
The brewery needed a strategic plan in place to determine how best to drive tourism traffic to this remote location. A full branding effort was needed to determine the target markets and how to design, develop and distribute the facility's collateral materials that included brochures, direct mail, traditional media and interactive media.

Solution:
As the brewery’s Agency of Record, Mission Creative partnered with them to develop a formal strategic marketing effort - beginning with the grand reopening ceremony and continuing on today for growing the business. In addition to print collateral peices, a website was developed that provides information about the site and ecommerce to allow for additional revenue generation for the facility. Mission Creative also determined that the facility and other associated businesses on the lot needed a cohesive feel externally. A very comprehensive exterior signage plan was designed and installed to provide a tourist destination feeling to visitors.

Mission Accomplished:
No detail was too small, and ultimately a cohesive brand image emerged that has resulted in business levels exceeding the client's expectations and projections. The museum and restaurant continue to be the talk of the region. People travel great distances to tour the museum, enjoy true craft beers and eat at the much-talked about restaurant.
